Starting July 1, residents of the UAE will be able to travel visa-free to Armenia, according to a new policy announced by Armenia’s Tourism Committee. This marks a big change – according to the 2017 arrangement, only UAE nationals were eligible for visa-free access, while residents had to obtain a visa on arrival.
Earlier this month, visa-free travel to Armenia was also granted for residents of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Oman.

If you’re planning to discover the country this year and wondering about the new entry regulations, here’s a quick summary. Starting July 1, 2025, visa-free entry to Armenia applies to:
- UAE residents with a valid residency visa for at least six months from the date of entry
- All passport holders from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries
- Individuals holding valid residency permits from any of the six GCC states
- Residency holders from the European Union (EU), Schengen Area, and the United States under Armenia’s broader visa-free expansion initiative
Eligible travellers can stay in Armenia for up to 90 days within any 180-day period, and the policy applies to trips made for tourism, leisure, or business purposes.

Located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Armenia is just a three-hour flight from the UAE. Airlines such as flydubai, Air Arabia, and Wizz Air operate direct routes, making it a convenient option for weekend escapes or short holidays.
With its UNESCO-listed monasteries, natural landscapes, and diverse culinary offerings, Armenia is a well-loved destination among UAE-based expatriates. The country is also widely recognised for its warm hospitality toward international visitors, adding to its appeal as a stress-free travel choice.
