The UAE is quickly becoming a hotspot for major international competitions, and Abu Dhabi has another event coming up. From October 24 to 26, Surf Abu Dhabi on Hudayriyat Island will host pro surfing event as a part of the WSL Longboard Tour: Abu Dhabi Longboard Classic 2025. Whether you’re a fan of this sport or just looking for a fun day out, this is your chance to watch the world’s top surfers compete.

Best of all, it’s free and open to all! You can enter the Surf Village for no charge, where you’ll have access to food trucks, rooftop bar, and seating around the wave pool. The competition will feature 48 best longboarders, including reigning champions Steven Sawyer from South Africa and France’s Alison Lemoigne.

Beyond the surfing, there will be plenty of entertainment. And don’t leave after the last wave on Sunday! Donavon Frankenreiter, one of the surf world’s favorite musicians, will play live on stage.

This month, there are even more free things to do around the city. You can explore masterpieces by Van Gogh, Kahlo, and Munch at the Bassam Freiha Art Foundation on Saadiyat Island, or take part in free Get Active sessions at The Galleria Al Maryah Island. There’s no shortage of things to do in the city so stay tuned for more updates!
