Getting your driver’s licence in Dubai just became much more efficient, thanks to the latest digital update from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The number of driver’s licence-related services has been reduced by more than half — shrinking from 33 services to just 15.

This major overhaul is part of the RTA’s broader effort to offer more user-friendly and accessible digital services. Instead of visiting a service centre in person, drivers can now handle everything directly through the RTA website or the unified smart app, which also supports vehicle owners and public transport users.

The updated platform lets you complete essential tasks such as:

  • Applying for or managing a driver’s licence
  • Adding new vehicle categories to your licence
  • Updating personal information
  • Renewing your licence
  • Requesting a replacement in case of loss or damage

All services are integrated with a notification system to keep you informed along the way, and the new system is designed to be secure, seamless, and easy to use.

Sultan Al Akraf, Director of Driver Licensing at the RTA’s Licensing Agency, said the goal is to enhance customer experience and make accessing RTA services as straightforward as possible. With this update, the process of getting your licence — or managing one you already have — has never been more convenient.
