Something new is coming out of Cairo’s factories, and it’s not textiles or steel. A homegrown company, Raedbots, has started building factory robots locally instead of relying on imports. It focuses on machines used in everyday industrial work, including welding, packaging, and moving materials inside factories. The company is part of the NVIDIA Inception programme and also works with the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center under Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. A huge new lifestyle and entertainment destination called Citadel Plaza will rise on on Mokattam Hill beside Salah Al-Din Citadel, overlooking one of the city’s oldest districts.
