Getting from Abu Dhabi International Airport to Emirates Palace could eventually take around 5-8 minutes. And if you’re wondering how, the answer is by air. Archer Aviation has officially started testing its flying taxi in the UAE capital, bringing the seemingly futuristic idea much closer to real trips.
Right now, the focus is on testing the aircraft during UAE summer weather. Before passenger flights begin, teams are checking how extreme heat affects the vehicle and cabin conditions.
Meanwhile, you can check out first possible vertiport location and planned air routes in the capital.

Future flights are expected to include quick trips around Abu Dhabi as well as routes between the capital and Dubai. Another trip between the emirates by air is coming in 2027 as travel time between Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah will be cut to under 15 minutes.
Archer Aviation says prices for air taxi may end up being similar to Uber Black or other premium car services:
- AED 300-350 for flights within Abu Dhabi
- AED 800-1,500 for Abu Dhabi-Dubai trips
No official launch date has been announced yet.
