Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has introduced a new route on the Dubai Metro’s Red Line, giving commuters more options during peak hours. The move aims to ease congestion during the busy morning and evening travel times, making it more convenient to get around.
The new route between Centrepoint Station and Al Fardan Exchange Station will cover much of the Red Line and operate during the morning peak hours from 7 AM to 9 AM and the afternoon peak hours from 4 PM to 8 PM. This is a great improvement for commuters, as it provides more flexibility and should reduce crowding on the Metro during the busiest times of day.
With the new addition, the Dubai Metro Red Line will now feature three routes:
- A route running from Centrepoint Station to Expo 2020 Station and back
- A route from Centrepoint Station to Life Pharmacy Station and back
- A new route from Centrepoint Station to Al Fardan Exchange and back, which will be available during peak hours
If you’re feeling confused regarding the station names, you should know that earlier this year, two stations on the Red Line were renamed. UAE Exchange Station is now Life Pharmacy Station, and Al Khail Station became Al Fardan Exchange Station. So, if you’re looking at the maps or planning your journey, make sure to keep these updated names in mind.
