After Dubai and Abu Dhabi had their moment with viral chocolate brands, it’s now Sharjah’s moment to shine. Qand is a premium chocolate and confectionery line made with organic ingredients. The brand will focus on ingredients grown and produced locally.

The base of each product comes from things we all know and love know: dates, fruits, and honey. Milk from Mleiha is part of the recipes, giving the chocolate a distinctly local base.

The word “Qand” comes from an old term used for crystallised sugar, with roots tracing back to Sanskrit, then Persian, and later into Arabic.

Wondering what Sharjah’s chocolate tastes like? Here are two flavours already revealed:

  • Pumpkin chocolate bites with almond flakes
Made with Mleiha milk and filled with a caramel mix of dates and pumpkin. The filling includes sliced almonds, cardamom, and saffron, all coated in Belgian chocolate
  • Al Faya honeycomb with sea salt
A crisp honeycomb centre with caramelised notes, covered in Belgian dark chocolate and finished with a light touch of sea salt

If you want to compare them or pick up a tasty souvenir from the UAE, there are now several options to choose from: Dubai’s viral FIX chocolate, Abu Dhabi’s variation by SNA’AP, and Sharjah’s new Qand.
