Heading to Thailand soon? There’s a new step travellers from the UAE (and elsewhere) need to complete before boarding. The Digital Travel Arrival Card (TDAC) is now a mandatory pre-arrival requirement for all foreign nationals entering Thailand — including visa-exempt visitors.
You’ll need to fill out the form online through the Thai Immigration Bureau’s official portal before your flight. It’s a quick process, but it’s essential you do it on time — no form, no entry.

Travelling to Thailand: Quick Facts for Tourists
- TDAC must be completed within 72 hours before arrival in Thailand
- It’s required for all nationalities, including those not needing a visa
- TDAC can be submitted individually or as a group (families, business trips)
- Travellers must show the electronic confirmation slip on arrival
The TDAC system officially replaced the previous paper-based arrival cards on May 1, 2025.

If you’re planning other Southeast Asian or European trips, here are two more changes to be aware of. Visa extension in Indonesia (including Bali) requests must now be done in person, even for tourists who previously used online renewal options.
Those applying for Schengen visas issued by France or Germany from the UAE now need to complete a mandatory online form as part of the new application procedure.
