If your social feeds have been full of football clips, concert moments, and huge crowds gathered around a giant screen, there’s a good chance you’ve already seen Egyptian Fan Zone. Watching clips online is one thing, but being in the middle of the crowd is a completely different experience.
Here’s everything you need to know about Egypt’s biggest World Cup fan destination and how to join the action this summer.
Inside Egypt’s Biggest World Cup Fan Zone
The Egyptian Fan Zone (EFZ) turns every match day into an all-day event, where football shares the spotlight with live concerts, activities, and a crowd that comes for the atmosphere. The opening ceremony featured a performance by Tamer Hosny, one of the moments that quickly put the fan zone all over social media.
So what makes the Egyptian Fan Zone so special?
For starters, you’ll see every attempt, save, and goal in full detail thanks to the largest display screen in the Middle East. Football gaming arenas, food stalls, and live entertainment mean there’s plenty happening before kick-off, during half-time, and long after the final whistle.
Where Is the Egyptian Fan Zone?
The Egyptian Fan Zone is located at the Green River in the New Administrative Capital, around 15 minutes from New Cairo’s Fifth Settlement.
How to Get to the Egyptian Fan Zone
You can reach the fan zone via Cairo Monorail, which takes passengers close to the event grounds.
The line connects with Cairo Metro Line 3 at Stadium Station and the Cairo LRT at Arts and Culture City Station.
Biggest Bonus: Most Matches Are Free
Most match days are free to attend, but you’ll need to register in advance through Tazkarti Fan Zone portal to receive your invitation.
The only exceptions are matches involving the Egyptian National Team and the tournament’s semi-finals and final, which require special access codes.
