Hailing from Rawalpindi, Pakistan, Javed Sheikh is a well-known actor and director with nearly 50 movies he has starred in, and this includes non-Pakistani movies too. Sheikh was one of the handful of Pakistani celebrities to enter into the Bollywood foray in the early 2000’s and has a good number of Hindi movies under his belt thus far.
Sheikh had begun his career in Lahore with the movie “Dhamaka” in 1974, after which he had bit of a hiatus only to return to get on the other side of the camera. 1995 saw the release of ‘Mushkil’, which was his directorial debut, followed by ‘Yeh Dil Aap Ka Huwa’ in 2002 where he had a supporting actor’s role too. Soon after this, Sheikh moved over to Bollywood with a series of movies including the hit ‘Om Shanti Om’ in 2007 where he plays the father of the protagonist, who is played by Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Needless to say, the popularity gained from this role increased his net-worth further.
