Pakistan has only a handful of successful actors who have had experience in theatre-acting. One such actor is renown Hamza Ali Abbasi, who is a director, actor and model. Ali is best known for his lead role in TV drama series “Pyarey Afzal” and “Mann Mayal”.
Ali’s beginnings was in USA where he resided during his formative years. He decided to return to Pakistan as soon as his studies was complete to pursue his desire to become an actor. However prior to that, Ali had already begun crafting his acting by enrolling in theatre productions in the States. With this he managed to get good exposure and experience in theatre-acting. Some productions he was a part of was Phantom of the Opera, Bombay Dreams amongst a few others.
In terms of film production, Ali started getting on board ‘Short-Film’ projects just as enthusiastically as feature films. Ali’s debut was in the short film “The Glorious Reserve”, after which “Waar” and “Main Hoon Shahid Afridi” feature films were released for which Ali bagged Best Debut and Best Supporting Actor awards.
