British singer-songwriter Craig David is one of the top acts in the UK R&B, Garage and Pop scene. Having become an instant hit with his work on Artful Dodger’s 1999 single ‘Re-Rewind’, David has gone on to sell millions of records around the world, charting numerous times and earning multiple awards in the process.
Having found himself amongst the rising garage scene at the end of the 1990s, David joined up with producer Artful Dodger, releasing Re-Rewind in 1999. The track reached Number 2 in the UK and charted around the globe, making David an instant hit. He quickly followed this up with ‘Woman Trouble’ which became another Top Ten hit.
David’s debut album, ‘Born to Do It’ topped charts around the world, reaching Number 11 in the US and selling over 7.5 million units, being certified 6 times Platinum in the UK. The album also included the chart-topping singles ‘Fill Me In’, ‘7 Days’, and ‘Walking Away’.
Success continued for the artist on his second album ‘Slicker Than Your Average’, which again entered the UK Top Ten, charting around the world and selling over 3.5 million units. It also included a number of hit singles, including the Number 2 song ‘Rise & Fall’ with Sting.
Craig David continued his chart success with his subsequent albums, ‘The Story Goes…’, ‘Trust Me’, ‘Signed Sealed Delivered’ and ‘Following My Intuition’, which was another Number 1 UK Album. He also made chart history with singles such as ‘All the Way’, ‘Don’t Love You No More’ and Hot Stuff’.
David’s career, which has seen him collaborated with the likes of Major Lazer, Calvin Harris and Jay Sean, has also seen him win numerous awards including 5 MOBO Awards, two MTV Europe Music Awards and three Ivor Novello Awards including the 2001 Songwriter of the Year Award.
