Norweigan duo Nico & Vinz have become one of the leading names in the afrobeats genre having topped charts around the world with their 2013 hit ‘Am I Wrong’. The duo have since gone on to sell millions of records and performed at some of the biggest venues in the world.
Formed in 2010 by Nico Sereba and Vincent Dery, two Norweigians of African origin, the duo began performing at various shows, including an appearance at 2011’s Emergenza Festival. Their debut song ‘One Song’, released as Envy, went up to Number 19 in Norway. The single was also included in their debut album, ‘the Magic Soup and the Bittersweet Faces’, which also charted in Norway.
It was in 2014 that Nico & Vinz achieved worldwide success with their single ‘Am I wrong’. The track topped the charts in Norway, Canada, New Zealand and the UK and peaked at Number 4 in the US, going multiple times Platinum in the process. The track was included on the album ‘Black Star Elephant’, which also included the Top Ten hit ‘In Your Arms’.
The duo performed around the world following the album’s success and in 2015 released ‘That’s How You Know’, which featured Bebe Rexha. The single was another hit for the duo, charting around the world, reaching Number 2 in Norway and Australia.
