Ukranian band Boombox are making waves in Eastern Europe and Russia with their unique blend of sounds. Formed in 2004 by singer Andriy Khlyvnyuk and guitartist Andriy ‘Fly’ Samoylo they have travelled the world and sold numerous records on their journey to the top.
In April 2005 the band put out their first album, ‘Melomania, which caught the attention of the nation and began to get them bookings across Ukraine and further afield. A blend of rock and roll, funk rock, hard rock and even reggae, hip-hop and jazz, the band is not afraid of trying new genres and styles to make music that best fits their brand.
Although their songs are predominantly in Ukranian, the band has also recorded tracks in Russian and English as they appeal to a wide range of cultures and nationalities. Since their debut album, they have gone on to put out 5 further albums, each one gaining them further praise.
2006 saw the release of 'Family Business', before 2008 album 'III', 'All Included' in 2010, 'Middle Age' in 2011 and, most recently, 'Terminal B', which Boombox released in 2013. With more releases planned in the future, the past has been a sure sign that Boomboxare capable of making crowds dance at their shows and they will continue to be one of the bands on everybody’s lips in their motherland.
