Last year, we took our stand to the stage as we embarked on our #FightforEquality and called for a collective action towards acceptance of all through the power of music. We believe that to move forward, we must do so together, with no one left behind.
The fight, however, does not stop there.
We envision a country wherein every single individual, regardless of their gender or sexual orientation, is free from untoward discrimination, bias, and prejudice; wherein laws, policies, and institutions protect and defend everyone’s inherent rights. ; a society that not only tolerates but also welcomes, with open minds and open arms.
We, the UP Junior Marketing Association, along with the University Student Council, are proud to continue the call for complete and genuine gender emancipation and empowerment through Cosmos: UP Fair Friday. For as long as social constructs and institutions threaten the dignity and safety of women and members of the LGBTQ+ community, our #MissionCosmos remains true and unwavering.
In a universe like ours, love is the most powerful force. And as we celebrate it this February 14, 2020, we need to help each other realize that this force belongs to us all - that it is ours to claim, ours to nurture, and ours to give to anyone and everyone.
With stardust in our veins, fire in our eyes, and love in our hearts, we fight on.
