Pakistani cricketer Ashar Ali is one of the leading figures in Pakistani cricket in recent years, having played in numerous matches and represented his country as the captain of the ODI team for a number of years. He is a strong batsman and he became the first person to become a triple century in a day and night test match when he scored 302 in 2016 against the West Indies.
Having had a domestic career that has seen him represent the Eagles, Lions and Qalandards of Lahore, Ali quickly found himself part of the Pakistani national team in 2010 where he made his debut against Australia. Ali found himself the centre of attention later in 2010 when he managed to salvage a draw against South Africa after chasing 451 runs and scoring well in his turns at the bat.
Ali has continued to perform well for his country and became the ODI captain, following the retirement of Misbah Ul Haq. As captain he has enjoyed both defeat and success, but earned the respect of his teammates and nation by scoring highly in tours against England, West Indies and Australia in 2016.
Ali’s quick style has seen him set numerous records including quickest Pakistani batsman to score 1000 runs, most runs as captain and first Pakistani batsman to hit a double-hundred in a Test in Australia.إقرأ المزيد
