Kalisto

Mexican-American wrestler Kalisto is one of the top luchadors in the professional WWE world. Signed under the Raw brand, Kalisto has fought in numerous matches against some of the top names in wrestling and has earnt himself a fan base through his agility and by winning the United States Championship twice.

Born in Chicago, Kalisto grew up in Mexico City and became inspired by the Mexican luchadores who are famous for fighting whilst wearing masks. He moved back to his home city and quickly entered into the city’s independent wrestling circuit.

Kalisto began to train with other famous Mexican wrestlers and signed with AAA where he became a protégé to Octagón. He continued to fight across Mexico and the USA in numerous competitions, each time perfecting his skills and developing his wrestling personality. In 2013, he signed to WWE and adopted the moniker ‘Kalisto’.

Kalisto participated in numerous tag team matches including several unsuccessful attempts to become the WWE Tag Team Champions. Kalisto eventually had success when he defeated the United States Champion Alberto Del Rio, winning his first US Championship before regaining it again from Del Rio shortly after. Kalisto also added the WWE’s Slammy Award for OMG Shocking Moment of the Year in 2015 for throwing a ladder at fellow restler TLC.
