Irish comedian Jason Byrne has been splitting sides around the world ever since he began his career in 1995. With a string of Edinburgh Fringe Festivals under his belt, numerous appearances on UK television and praise from reviewers across the board, Byrne is widely regarded as one of the leading names in live comedy.
Known for high-energy and intelligent conversation Byrne has found himself nominated for two prestigious Perrier Award in 1998 and 2001 as well as the 2007 Chortle Award for Best Headliner. Byrne’s career has taken him around the world with shows in New York, Hong Kong, Milan, Sydney and Singapore all on his resume.
Byrne has also been invited onto the television screens of the UK several times as his strong stand-up performances have seen him earn respect and recognition from many of the UK’s top acts. He has appeared on Live at the Apollo, Dave’s One Night Stand and Comedy Rocks with Jason Manford, amongst others.
Byrne’s credits don’t just include appearances on some of the premier stand-up shows, he also hosted three series of The Jason Byrne Show on BBC Radio 2, winning the Sony Gold Award for Best Comedy in 2011 in the process.
