Biography & Career:
Mousse T. is a German DJ and producer who helped put German house music on the global map. The stage name hides the real name Mustafa Gündoğdu, given by Turkish parents. In terms of nationality, the artist is German with Turkish roots, a heritage reflected in work with Turkish pop star Tarkan. DJ Mousse T started out in 1990 as a keyboardist in a small band, co-founded the label Peppermint Jam with partner Errol Rennalls in 1993 and adopted the famous moniker a year later.

The core genre is house, blended with funk, disco and pop. The breakthrough came in 1998 with a club anthem that topped the Billboard dance chart and reached number two in the UK, followed by a worldwide hit created with Tom Jones. Remix work for Michael Jackson and other stars brought a Grammy nomination for Remixer of the Year, and in 2020 Traxsource ranked the producer the number one house artist of the year.

The discography spans four studio and live albums, dozens of singles and remixes for artists such as Kylie Minogue, Boney M. and Purple Disco Machine. Fans of Mousse T. songs love the mix of catchy hooks, live instruments and soulful vocals, and the greatest hits still fill dance floors decades after release. Beyond the club world, the producer has written film music, sat on the jury of a major German talent show and worked on a Sanremo Festival entry in Italy.

In 2026 the producer married TV presenter Khadra Sufi after eight years together, describing the wife as the love of a lifetime. There is no public information about children. On stage, every concert and DJ set blends classic hits with fresh edits, each tour brings the funky house sound to clubs and festivals, and fans following upcoming events can expect a celebration of groove.
