André Reyes was born in Arles, in southern France, into one of the most influential families in the history of flamenco and Gipsy rumba. The son of legendary flamenco singer José Reyes and heir to a musical lineage that includes Manitas de Plata, André is the youngest of vive brothers who together forged one of the world’s most renowned musical projects. A singer and guitarist with an unmistakable voice, his style fuses the most authentic elements of traditional flamenco with the energy of Latin rumba, creating a unique sound that has moved millions of people across five continents. In 2012, he received the award from the French Society of Composers (SACEM), one of the most prestigious honors in the French music industry.
With more than 60 million albums sold and a career spanning more than four decades, the band has brought its unique sound—an irresistible fusion of flamenco, rumba, and pop—to more than 90 countries. Their first singles were huge hits in France, Italy, England, and Spain before taking the rest of the world by storm, turning gipsy rumba into a universal language that effortlessly transcends cultures, generations, and borders.
Today, under the artistic direction of André Reyes, the band continues to bring Gipsy rumba to the world’s biggest stages: from massive festivals to its own symphonic productions at the Dubai Opera alongside the UAE Philharmonic Orchestra.
