Sapan Verma

Indian comedian Sapan Verma is one of the most popular new generation comedians, famed for his quick wit, he is also one of the co-founders of the East India Comedy group, which have performed around the world and produce viral videos which receive millions of viewers every month.

As a stand-up comedian, Verma has performed over 700 shows to audiences in his native India as well as at shows in Dubai, New York, Singapore, Paris and more. Verma is a regular headliner at The Comedy Store and Canvas Laugh Club in Mumbai and he has written scripts for the likes of Ranveer Singh, Farhan Akhtar and Shahrukh Khan. Verma’s writing has also seen him contribute to many of India’s top magazines, having articles and columns in The Times of India, Grazia and Maxim, to name a few.

Verma has also been a frequent contributor to television, having worked with several channels including Channel V, Star Plus and Zoom TV. Verma was a presenter on NDTV Prime’s The Bottom Line, a satirical comedy show, and is not the host of EIC Outrage, an online comedy series.

Verma’s most famous comedy work, aside from writing for India’s top awards shows Filmfare, Star Guild and Life OK Screen Awards, are his viral videos, which he produces with the East India Comedy group, starring names such as Sorabh Pant and Atul Khatri. Verma’s videos include Sex Education in India, Wrecking God and the Ultimate Shaadi Playlist.
