Shoaib Malik

Pakistani cricketer and former captain of the national side Shoaib Malik is one of the most revered cricketers of his generation and is only second to compatriot Shahid Afridi in the ODI all-rounder rankings. A strong all-rounder, Malik has taken over 100 ODI wickets and also holds a mid 30s batting average.

Whilst his bowling styles are unique and often questioned, he has regularly proven himself as one of the top all-rounders in the game. Malik has batted at almost every position in ODI cricket and has batted in 5 different positions in his Test career. In 2006 he scored 148 runs against Sri Lanka and has repeatedly performed well, including a personal best score of 245 runs against England in 2015.

Malik was appointed captain of the Pakistan cricket team in 2007 at just 25 years old. During his captaincy, he led his country to two Test victories and 24 ODI wins.

Malik has played in a number of clubs and leagues in domestic cricket. Having begun his career at Sialkot Stallions in Pakistan, with whom he has led to a record 8 T20 titles, he has moved to Gloucestershire in 2003 as well as having played in Delhi, Barbados and Karachi more recently.
