Oman has officially declared a three-day holiday to commemorate the occasion of Isra and Mi’raj at the end of January 2025. According to an announcement by the state-run Oman News Agency (ONA), Thursday, January 30, 2025, will be a public holiday for all employees in both the public and private sectors.

With the country’s regular weekend falling on Friday and Saturday, this decision allows workers across Oman to enjoy a much-anticipated three-day break.

Isra and Mi’raj, which marks a significant event in Islamic tradition, is observed on Monday, January 27, 2025. However, the holiday has been rescheduled to Thursday to align with the weekend and create a long, uninterrupted break. Regular work hours will resume on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

This extended holiday provides an opportunity for residents to rest, spend time with family, or travel domestically and internationally, contributing to a vibrant and energized start to February.
