The UAE has announced its updated fuel prices for May 2025, and it’s a bit of a mixed bag. Depending on what you fill your tank with, you might be paying a little more — or slightly less — this month.

Starting May 1, Super 98 petrol will see a minor increase, priced at AED 2.58 per litre, up from AED 2.57 in April.

Special 95 is also going up, landing at AED 2.47 per litre, compared to AED 2.46 last month.

On the flip side, diesel users get a bit of a break. Diesel is dropping to AED 2.52 per litre, down from AED 2.63 in April — a notable decrease of 11 fils.

Here’s a quick recap of Super 98 petrol prices in 2025 so far:

  • January: AED 2.61
  • February: AED 2.74
  • March: AED 2.73
  • April: AED 2.57
  • May: AED 2.58

Just for comparison, the price in May 2024 for Super 98 was a much steeper AED 3.34.

Fuel prices in the UAE are adjusted monthly based on global oil market movements. If you’re planning long drives this month or commuting daily, it’s a good idea to keep these updated rates in mind.
