If you drive in and out of Al Reem Island, getting around just became a lot easier. Abu Dhabi has opened two new bridges that connect the island directly to Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Highway (E-12). Their mutual capacity reaches up to 7,200 vehicles/hour, and travel time can be reduced by up to 15 minutes during peak hours.

The new connection reduces pressure on Hamdan Bin Mohammed Street and Mina Road, which are often congested. Check out the official map with two new bridges added.

A separate bridge is dedicated to freight vehicles, allowing trucks to make a U-turn between Zayed Port and Saadiyat Island without mixing with regular traffic.

The project also includes landscaped spaces, as well as pedestrian and cycling tracks.

If you drive around Abu Dhabi regularly, note that part of E11 is closed until April 23. You can check the details and the map here.
