Sharjah already has plenty to see, and more landmarks are on the way. HH Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, shared details of new developments in Kalba and Khorfakkan. Here’s what’s planned and where each landmark will be located.

  • In Kalba, a new roundabout will welcome visitors arriving from the west side of the city

The centrepiece is a fountain that sprays rose water instead of regular water, adding a noticeable fragrance to the area. Access to the centre will be through an underground pedestrian tunnel, so you can walk in and spend time near the fountain without dealing with traffic above.

  • A new clock tower is being built in Khorfakkan

It’s called Burj Al Sa’a. The structure includes an Islamic-style dome and large arches.

  • A protected reserve along Al Qalqali Beach

The reserve will become home to a rare species of lizard found only in the area. Visitors can still access the surroundings, with elevated seating areas planned along the nearby slopes. The areas keep people at a safe distance from the wildlife and offer open views of the coastline.

A completion date for these projects has not been announced yet.
