Manar Abu Dhabi has expanded beyond the capital for the first time, bringing its public light art exhibition to two of the Al Ain’s most beautiful oases. The free light art exhibition at Al Jimi and Al Qattara opened on November 1 and has turned the peaceful, palm-filled spaces into glowing art destinations.

The exhibition follows the theme ‘The Light Compass‘. As you walk through the gardens and old houses, you’ll find seven light artworks set among the trees and historic walls

Al Qattara features three fascinating light art installations ‘Translation Stream’ (2023) and ‘Pulse Canopy’ (2025) by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer and ‘Sadu Red Carpet’ (2025) by Khalid Shafar.

At Al Jimi Oasis, visitors can explore ‘Breath of the Same Place’ (2025) by Maitha Hamdan, ‘Cycle of Circles’ (2025) by Ammar Al Attar, ‘Floral Resonance’ (2024-) by Christian Brinkmann, and ‘Guiding Drapes’ (2025) by Abdalla Almulla.

You can visit both oases in one day since there’s only a 20-minute walk between the locations. Manar Abu Dhabi in Al Ain is open every day from 5.30 PM to midnight until January 4, 2026. Entry is free.

It’s a lovely way to spend an evening outdoors and see Al Ain in a new light. Stay tuned for more news and future events in the UAE.
