Visiting a courtroom in Bahrain may soon become unnecessary. Starting from March 8, 2026, civil court hearings in the Kingdom will move online, making it possible to attend remotely instead of appearing in person. All hearings will take place through a remote litigation service available on the official website of the Ministry of Justice: moj.gov.bh.
Here’s how the online civil court hearings will be conducted in Bahrain:
- Users will access the system via the Ministry of Justice website using the upgraded Electronic Key 2.0. Instead of a password, identity is verified through biometric facial recognition.
- Each hearing will be overseen by the assigned judge, just like in a traditional courtroom.
- Parties will be able to upload and review case documents directly on the platform.
- Participants can present their arguments online and follow the proceedings in real time.
The ministry says the system is designed to keep all legal safeguards in place while making civil court hearings easier to access from anywhere in Bahrain.
The Kingdom has also recently introduced online birth certificate services for new parents, another example of how government processes are gradually moving online to make things more convenient for residents.
