Bahrain has officially set the working hours for government employees during Ramadan 2025. A circular issued by Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, confirms that public sector offices will operate from 8 AM to 2 PM throughout the holy month.

No specific schedule has been announced for private companies. However, businesses are encouraged to offer flexible working arrangements, provided they comply with Bahrain’s labor laws.

Ramadan, the holiest month in Islam, is expected to begin on Saturday, March 1, 2025, though the exact date depends on moon sightings, which will be confirmed soon. During this time, Muslims worldwide observe fasting from dawn to sunset, increase charitable giving, and engage in prayers and reflection.

Shorter working hours during Ramadan helps employees balance their professional responsibilities with religious practices. The temporary schedule allows Muslim workers to manage their daily fasts and prayers while ensuring government services continue to run smoothly.

Bahrain’s approach reflects its recognition of the spiritual significance of Ramadan, creating a work schedule that supports both productivity and faith.
