Imagine cutting your travel time between Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah to under 15 minutes – and doing it in an electric air taxi. Joby Aviation is bringing this futuristic service to the UAE, set to begin operations in the first half of 2027. It’s fast, sleek, and completely emissions-free, giving residents and visitors a new way to experience the country.
The first route will link Dubai International Airport’s vertiport to Al Marjan Island, where the multi-billion-dollar Wynn Resorts is rising. The launch of the service will coincide with the opening of the Middle East’s first integrated gaming resort, making Ras Al Khaimah even more attractive for visitors.

Later in the year, the service will extend from Al Marjan Island to Jebel Jais, the tallest mountain in the UAE, opening up quick access to Ras Al Khaimah’s scenic highlights.
Joby’s air taxi carries a pilot and up to four passengers and can reach a top speed of 321 km/h. It’s designed for efficiency, comfort, and sustainability, representing a next-generation travel option that promises both speed and style.
Dubai is already testing the new transport options – RTA confirmed the first successful flight in June 2025. The city aims to have air taxis in operation by 2026.
