Saudi Arabia has introduced a new cultural and religious landmark in Makkah — the Holy Quran Museum. Located in the Hira Cultural District, near the historic Cave Hira, the museum offers a deep dive into the history, preservation, and significance of the Holy Quran.

The museum showcases rare Quranic manuscripts, some centuries old, as well as a photographed copy of the Uthman bin Affan (RA) manuscript, one of the earliest known written versions of the Quran. Visitors can explore interactive exhibits that bring to life the story of Quranic revelation.

The museum features interactive visual displays explaining how the Quran was transcribed, preserved, and shared across generations. The Cultural Foundation, housed within the museum, offers additional resources on Islamic history and heritage.

One of the highlights is the Revelation Exhibition, which uses modern technology to illustrate how the first verses of the Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in Cave Hira — just steps away from the museum. Visitors can also access part of the cave itself, adding a spiritual dimension to their visit.

As Saudi Arabia continues to invest in cultural and religious tourism, the Holy Quran Museum stands out as a key destination for pilgrims and visitors. The museum will remain open throughout Ramadan, making it an ideal stop for those performing Umrah or seeking a deeper understanding of Islam’s sacred text.
