Exciting news for ice cream lovers in the UAE — M. Kazem Ice Cream has just opened its first branch in Ajman. The beloved Gazan parlour, which had to close its doors back in 2023, is back with a heartfelt mission: to keep its culture, stories, and community alive through traditional treats.

Since 1950, this family-run gem from northern Gaza has been serving up flavours that are as much about memory as they are about taste. Now, residents in the UAE can enjoy the same recipes that made Kazem famous, all in a welcoming spot designed to feel like home.

At the top of the menu is the famous barrad, a fruit-flavored slushy drink that’s light and super refreshing — the kind of drink that instantly takes you back to sun-soaked summers by the sea. At M. Kazem Ice Cream parlor, there are three flavors of barrad are available: classic lemon, tropical mango, or aromatic strawberry.

Lovers of ice cream can go for gelato or classic options, and for those who can’t decide, the shop offers unmissable combos: small or large barrad + ice cream/gelato of your choice.

Ajman was an intentional choice for this UAE debut, thanks to its close-knit Palestinian community and the promise of a friendly, familiar crowd. Ongoing challenges and political instability made keeping the original Gaza shop running impossible.

If you’re excited about Palestinian flavours, there’s more to look forward to — new restaurant Khobzeh w Zaitoneh is gearing up to open soon in Abu Dhabi, bringing even more traditional dishes and unique tastes to the UAE.
