Masfout has officially been named one of the Best Tourism Villages in the World for 2025 by the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism). Out of more than 270 applicants from around the world, just 52 villages made the list this year, and Masfout is the only one from the GCC region. It now stands alongside stunning rural destinations in Spain, Italy, Turkey, Japan, Brazil, and beyond.
Launched in 2021, “Best Tourism Villages” initiative celebrates destinations that set the standard for sustainable travel while protecting cultural heritage and improving local livelihoods. Villages are evaluated on key factors like environmental sustainability, social and economic impact, tourism development, and cultural preservation.
