Launched under the directives of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the walkway is part of a wider urban development strategy focused on infrastructure improvements and public health in the Eastern Region.

The pathway has an average width of 4 metres and stretches around Khorfakkan Hospital, making it a convenient and accessible option for hospital visitors as well as local residents looking for a dedicated space to walk or jog. The SRTA noted that high-quality materials meeting standard specifications are being used to ensure comfort and durability for users.

In addition to the track, the project includes landscaping around 5,000 square metres with ornamental plants. This element is being carried out in partnership with Khor Fakkan Municipality and the Public Works Department, further enhancing the area’s appeal.

The walkway also forms part of a larger internal road development initiative in Al Bardi 6. As part of that plan, pedestrian crossings will be added to support safe movement and improve traffic flow in step with the area’s ongoing urban expansion. Altogether, the project adds a practical and community-friendly feature to the growing cityscape of Khor Fakkan.
