As the New Year approaches, Abu Dhabi has unveiled special transport measures to ease mobility and enhance convenience during the public holiday. Here’s what motorists and commuters need to know about parking, toll gate fees, and public transport services on January 1, 2025.

On Wednesday, January 1, 2025, parking fees across surface lots in Abu Dhabi will be waived. Normal parking charges will resume on Thursday, January 2, starting at 8 AM. The Musaffah M-18 truck parking lot will also be fee-free during the New Year holiday.

Drivers are reminded to park only in designated areas and avoid prohibited zones to maintain smooth traffic flow. Residential parking spaces are reserved for permit holders from 9 PM to 8 AM, so plan accordingly.

Abu Dhabi’s Darb toll gate system will be inactive on January 1, 2025, allowing drivers to pass toll points without charges throughout the day. Regular toll operations will resume during peak hours (7 AM–9 AM and 5 PM–7 PM) on Thursday, January 2.

Public buses in Abu Dhabi will operate on the weekend and official holiday schedule during New Year’s Day, with additional regional and intercity services to accommodate increased demand. Commuters can check bus schedules on the Abu Dhabi Mobility website or via the Darbi app.

Customer Happiness Centres will remain closed on January 1 and reopen on January 2. However, essential services remain accessible online via the Abu Dhabi Mobility website, Darbi and Darb apps, and the TAMM digital platform.

For assistance, customers can contact the Department of Municipalities and Transport’s Service Support Centre at 800850 or the Taxi Call Centre at 600535353, both available 24/7.
