This November, Abu Dhabi welcomes NOMAD Design Fair for the first time, turning the historic Terminal 1 at Zayed International Airport into a curated hub for art and design. The traveling fair will bring international galleries, site-specific installations, and designer showcases to Abu Dhabi on November 19-22 before moving on to St. Moritz and The Hamptons next year.
Terminal 1 was designed by French architect Paul Andreu and served travelers for over 40 years before closing in 2023. NOMAD will activate these halls, transforming them into an atmospheric backdrop that complements the creativity on display.
NOMAD Design Fair is known for its elegant, intimate approach. Unlike larger fairs, it focuses on a thoughtfully curated selection of galleries and projects, creating meaningful connections between collectors, designers, and artists.
While Terminal 1 no longer operates as an airport, Abu Dhabi keeps improving the services at the existing hubs. Check out the Smart Travel initiative, which will allow immigration clearance in just 7 seconds in the future. And if you’re traveling to Yas Island after the flight, you’ll be pleased to know that Tram Line 4 will soon connect the two areas by a short 20-minute ride.
Stay tuned for more updates on Abu Dhabi’s cultural calendar!
