Getting ready for Hajj 2026? Vaccinations are one of the few steps you can’t afford to delay, and missing a required one can stop your trip before it starts. The rules apply to all pilgrims aged one year and above. Here’s the list of required and recommended vaccines.
Hajj 2026 mandatory vaccines what every pilgrim must have
- Meningococcal ACYW
Required for all pilgrims. Must be taken at least 10 days before arrival, with valid proof of vaccination. - Polio vaccine
Required only for travellers from countries where polio is still circulating. The dose must fall within the approved timeframe before travel. - Yellow fever vaccine
Applies to pilgrims coming from affected countries. The certificate becomes valid after 10 days and must be presented on arrival.

Vaccines must be completed at least 10 days before travel. This allows time for immunity to develop and ensures your documents are valid on arrival. All doses should be recorded in an International Vaccination Card issued by an authorised health centre.
Recommended vaccines for Hajj 2026 pilgrims
- Seasonal influenza vaccine. Recommended for all pilgrims
- Pneumococcal vaccine. Advised for older adults and individuals with chronic conditions
- COVID 19 vaccination. Part of general health precautions
Vaccination proof is part of the entry process, so it’s worth checking requirements early and booking appointments in advance to avoid delays.

If you’re not making it this year, you can look into another meaningful pilgrimage experience in Saudi Arabia that follows the route of the Prophet’s Hijrah between Makkah and Madinah.
