Qatar has officially declared a five-day public holiday for Eid Al Adha 2025, giving residents a chance to celebrate one of Islam’s most important festivals with an extended break.
As per the announcement, public sector holidays will begin on the ninth day of Dhul Hijjah, which is Arafah Day, expected to fall on Thursday, June 5 this year. The break will continue through the thirteenth day of Dhul Hijjah (June 9, 2025), giving most people a five-day weekend to spend time with family and engage in the religious and cultural traditions of the holiday.

Meanwhile, in the UAE, Arafah Day will also be a public holiday, followed by a three-day Eid Al Adha break from Friday, June 6 to Sunday, June 8, though the final dates will depend on the official moon sighting.
With both countries preparing for extended public breaks, the region is expected to see a boost in travel, tourism, and family gatherings. As always, travellers should confirm the exact holiday schedules closer to the date, as they remain subject to the lunar calendar.
