If you’re in Qatar this December, don’t miss the celebrations for Qatar National Day at Darb Al Saai. Taking place in the Umm Salal area from December 10 to 20, this event is a true dive into the country’s rich history and heritage. You can expect a variety of activities that bring Qatar’s past to life, all for free!

You’ll get a chance to experience the Al Maqtar and Al Azba activities, which give a taste of Bedouin life through poetry sessions and riddles. There are also traditional houses like Falconry House, Hunting House, and Sadu and Spinning House, each offering a glimpse into the ancient ways of life.

If you’ve got kids, they’ll love the camel riding lessons and other hands-on experiences that show what it was like for nomadic ancestors.

For those who want to explore Qatar’s maritime heritage, there’s Al Bidda event, which brings the traditional sea life to life. You’ll see maritime games and competitions and get a peek into Qatar’s seafaring history through a special museum.

The celebrations take place at Darb Al Saai daily from 3 PM to 11 PM, and they are free to attend, so there’s no excuse not to stop by and take it all in.

Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to experience Qatar’s heritage first-hand. Make sure to check out other upcoming events in the country, like Qatar Balloon Festival 2025, DYSTINCT live in Doha on December 17, and Sealine Nights Doha in January 2026.
