Qatar has officially designated February 11, 2025, as a public holiday to celebrate National Sports Day. This annual event, observed every second Tuesday of February, promotes fitness, well-being, and an active lifestyle for both citizens and residents.
Since its introduction in 2012, National Sports Day has grown into a nationwide celebration, with sports clubs, organizations, and communities hosting various activities. The day encourages people to engage in physical exercise, from friendly matches to professional sports demonstrations, all aimed at highlighting the benefits of an active lifestyle.

The Amiri Diwan confirmed the holiday through the state news agency QNA, stating:
“On the occasion of National Sports Day, Tuesday, Shaaban 12, 1446 AH, corresponding to February 11, 2025, will be an official holiday.”
Each year, public and private sectors participate by organizing events such as marathons, cycling races, fitness challenges, and team sports. Many companies also encourage their employees to take part, reinforcing the importance of a healthy work-life balance.
With growing enthusiasm for sports and wellness, National Sports Day continues to inspire people across Qatar to stay active and make fitness a part of their daily routine.
