The UAE has officially announced that Ramadan 2025 will begin on March 1st, following the sighting of the crescent moon. The holy month, observed by Muslims across the country and around the world, marks a time of fasting, prayer, and spiritual reflection.

The moon sighting committee confirmed the start date after careful observations, in line with Islamic tradition. As a result, Muslims in the UAE will begin their first fast at dawn on Saturday, March 1st, observing daily fasting from sunrise to sunset throughout the month.

Ramadan is a time for deep spiritual connection, self-discipline, and acts of kindness. Throughout the UAE, families and communities will come together for Iftar, the evening meal to break the fast, while mosques will host special Taraweeh prayers each night. It is also a period of increased charitable giving, with numerous initiatives supporting those in need.

Preparations Across the UAE

As the holy month begins, workplaces and schools adjust schedules to accommodate fasting hours, while restaurants and cafes prepare for Suhoor and Iftar services. The UAE’s vibrant Ramadan atmosphere will be reflected in illuminated streets, community gatherings, and special Ramadan markets offering traditional delicacies.

The month will endwith Eid al-Fitr, expected to fall on April 30th, 2025, subject to moon sighting. This joyous occasion will be marked with prayers, feasts, and celebrations across the country.

As the UAE welcomes this sacred time, we extend our heartfelt wishes to all observing. Ramadan Kareem!
