Sharjah’s paid parking system has undergone significant updates since late 2024, aiming to streamline parking access across the city. With new extended hours, fresh zones, and updated fee structures, here’s what you need to know to navigate the changes effectively.

Parking spaces in Sharjah are easily identifiable by blue and white curb markings and clear signage, providing all the necessary details about usage and fees. While daily parking options remain available, the city also offers flexible prepaid subscription plans.

  • Personal Subscriptions: Cover all areas of Sharjah or two specific zones.
  • Business Subscriptions: Offer a city-wide parking solution tailored for enterprises.

The subscription costs depend on the selected plan, ensuring options for both frequent and occasional users.

Three Key Changes to Sharjah’s Parking System in 2025

Extended Paid Parking Hours in Seven-Day Zones

From November 1, 2024, Sharjah introduced new timings for its seven-day parking zones. Motorists now pay for parking between 8 AM and midnight, extending two hours beyond the previous schedule of 8 AM to 10 PM.

These 16-hour zones, clearly marked with blue parking signs, remain active throughout the week and on public holidays. Payments can be made via SMS, ensuring easy access for all drivers.

Paid Parking in Al Dhaid

As of January 1, 2025, parking fees apply in Al Dhaid from 8 AM to 10 PM, Saturday through Thursday. Fridays are generally exempt from fees unless in specific zones where charges apply all week, including public holidays.

Parking Fees Introduced in Kalba

Starting February 1, 2025, Kalba city will also enforce parking fees from 8 AM to 10 PM, Saturday to Thursday. As with Al Dhaid, parking remains free on Fridays, except in designated seven-day zones.

These changes reflect Sharjah’s efforts to improve traffic management and ensure the availability of parking in high-demand areas.
