Safeer Mall, a well-known shopping center in Sharjah, has officially closed after nearly two decades. A representative from the Al Safeer Group confirmed that the mall shut its doors two months ago.
Shoppers driving past its familiar location on Al Khan Road will notice that the mall’s blue signage, including its name and logo, has been removed. The three-story building, which also had two basement parking levels, was once a go-to shopping destination for many residents.
Safeer Mall first opened in 2005, developed by the Al Safeer Group. Before the UAE saw the rise of its modern mega-malls, it was a key shopping spot, especially for long-time residents and expats who had made the country their home.
Although the Sharjah branch has closed, the Safeer Group continues to operate several hypermarkets and marts in the UAE, including Safeer Mall locations in Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah. The company also manages Century Mall in Dubai’s Hor Al Anz East.
While the closure of Safeer Mall marks the end of an era, the Al Safeer Group remains a key player in the UAE’s retail industry, with multiple stores and shopping outlets still in operation.
