Spartan Race is making its return to the UAE on October 11-12, 2025, and this time the course is unlike anything seen before. The upcoming Spartan Trifecta Weekend is set to take place inside Al Ain Zoo, blending obstacle racing with wild scenery for a two-day event that’s open to beginners, seasoned athletes, and families.
This edition marks the first time a Spartan event to be hosted inside a zoo, which means competitors will be navigating a course that runs through animal exhibits, garden landscapes, and natural trails. There’s even a chance of spotting zebras or giraffes while climbing ropes or carrying sandbags.

The event features all three of Spartan’s main race formats across the weekend. Competitors who complete all three earn the Spartan Trifecta medal – a mark of endurance and determination.
- Sprint: 5 km with 20 obstacles – suitable for first-timers or anyone looking for a fast-paced challenge
- Super: 10 km with 25 obstacles – a more demanding test of strength and stamina
- Beast: 21 km with 30 obstacles – the toughest of the three, designed to push limits
In addition to the main races, there are also kids’ races with distances ranging from 1 to 3 km, tailored to ages 4 to 14.

This Trifecta Weekend promises something different not just for racers, but for spectators too. The mix of sport and setting makes it an experience beyond the typical obstacle course format.
If you’re planning to get involved in Spartan events this season, don’t miss another upcoming challenge: Spartan Race at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, set for September. It’s another opportunity to take on obstacles, test your limits, and be part of the growing Spartan community in the UAE.
