Ever wanted to walk straight into a painting instead of just looking at it? You actually can. “Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience” has arrived at District 5 by Marakez in New Cairo, bringing one of the world’s most talked-about digital art shows to the city.

The exhibition has already toured across North America, Europe, and Asia. Now it’s Egypt’s turn. Inside, you’ll find more than 300 works by Vincent van Gogh. But there are no frames here. Instead, projections cover the walls and floors, pulling visitors into each scene as paintings change.

You’ll spend more than an hour inside the world of the Dutch artist with colours, light, and sound dancing around you. It’s a journey through wheat fields, starry night skies, rooms and cafés, and other scenes he’s best known for.

The Van Gogh art exhibition is open until June 2026 at District 5 in New Cairo. Later, the same venue will host a limited run of “Beyond Monet,” focusing on the work of Claude Monet and his garden scenes.

If you’re planning to stay out a bit longer or need more weekend ideas, there’s plenty more to see in the city. Check out the best things to do in Cairo.
