Tanweer Festival is set to return to the dunes of Mleiha in Sharjah this November, bringing back its distinctive mix of music, art, spiritual reflection, and sustainability. After a well-received debut edition, the three-day event from November 21 to 23 is preparing for an even more immersive second chapter.

Held in the tranquil desert landscape, the festival will once again transform the area into a gathering space for creativity, cultural exchange, and mindful living. The initiative is led by Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, who envisions the festival as a platform for deepening connection — both with others and with the natural world.

The 2025 edition carries the theme “What You Seek Is Seeking You,” inspired by the poetry of Rumi. The programme spans a wide range of activities designed to engage visitors on multiple levels:

  • Main Stage: The heart of the festival, this space will host live music performances framed by immersive visuals and ambient desert lighting.
  • The Dome: Dedicated to workshops and talks, this area will feature discussions and sessions centered around reflection, creativity, and personal growth.
  • Tree of Life: A peaceful space set aside for stillness and quiet gathering.
  • Nourish: This culinary hub will serve organic, farm-to-table meals with vegan, vegetarian, and Bedouin-style BBQ options.

The festival’s Marketplace will feature a selection of artisanal products crafted by handpicked makers, offering visitors a chance to explore unique, high-quality items. Nearby, open-air art installations will be thoughtfully integrated into the desert landscape, creating a seamless blend of natural surroundings and creative expression.

Tanweer Festival continues its strong commitment to sustainability. The 2025 edition will be a zero single-use plastic event, with waste managed through recycling and composting systems. Food vendors will operate under zero-waste principles, and sustainability awareness will be part of the programme across all areas.

And if you’re planning a trip to Sharjah soon, another seasonal event is just around the corner: the Mango Festival at Expo Khor Fakkan, taking place from June 27. It’s another great reason to explore what the emirate has to offer.
