Possible 9-Day Weekend for Eid Al Fitr
One of the most exciting news is the potential nine-day weekend for Eid al-Fitr. According to astronomers, Ramadan is expected to commence on Monday, March 11, 2024. If this prediction holds true, Eid al-Fitr is most likely to fall on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.
For UAE workers, both in the private and public sectors, this means a well-deserved and extended break. Eid al-Fitr holidays are typically granted from Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3 in the Islamic calendar. If April 10 does mark the beginning of Eid al Fitr, then Monday, April 8, will be Ramadan 29, and Friday, April 12, will be Shawwal 3, as per the Gregorian calendar.
Considering the two weekends on either side, this would give everyone a nine-day off from Monday, April 8, to Friday, April 12.
It’s essential to keep in mind that the confirmed dates will only be announced in Dubai in accordance with the relevant moon sightings.
Eid Al Adha’s Possible 4-Day Break
Eid Al Adha also offers a promising four-day holiday. With Eid Al Adha falling on Sunday, June 16, 2024, UAE residents can expect to enjoy an extended weekend.
For those planning to make the most of this holiday, taking a day or two off before or after the actual holiday can result in a fantastic four-day break. This duration is perfect for a short getaway, a staycation at one of the luxurious resorts, or simply spending quality time with loved ones.
As with all Islamic holidays, the exact dates for Eid Al Adha will be confirmed based on Moon sightings, so stay tuned for official announcements to make the most of this exciting four-day break.
So, mark your calendars, start planning your vacations, and get ready to make unforgettable memories in 2024!
