The University of Bahrain has made a remarkable achievement by entering the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings for the first time. This milestone marks a new chapter in the university’s history since its founding in 1986. The university is now recognized globally, earning a place in the 1001-1200 range, becoming the first national university in Bahrain to join this esteemed list.

The university earned 60.8 for Research Quality and 62.2 for International Outlook, reflecting its growing reputation in global academia.

The THE Rankings is widely recognized for evaluating universities based on key areas such as teaching quality, research, international outlook, and more. Oxford University continues to hold the top spot for the tenth consecutive year.

In addition to the University of Bahrain’s achievement, Arabian Gulf University (AGU) also secured a spot in the top 500 in the World University Rankings 2026.
