For 30 years, The Laughter Factory has brought professional comedians from top comedy clubs around the world to audiences in the UAE, continuing a tradition that helped make international stand-up comedy more accessible in the Gulf.

This month’s show continues that legacy with a line-up featuring Marlon Davis, George Zach, Denisa Alexe and John Hague — four comedians with different backgrounds, styles and stories, united by their ability to deliver a memorable live stand-up show.

The Laughter Factory was established at a time when professional stand-up comedy was still uncommon in the Middle East. Three decades later, the club remains committed to bringing comedians who have earned their place on the professional circuit to UAE audiences.

Headlining the show, Marlon Davis is a comedian, improviser and actor known for appearances on Live at the Apollo, Live From The Comedy Store, Stand Up Central, The Stand Up Sketch Show and Don’t Hate the Playaz. He has also toured alongside some of British comedy’s biggest names, including Kevin Bridges, Michael McIntyre and Alan Carr, establishing himself as one of the UK’s rising comedy talents.

Joining him is George Zach, a comedian and writer whose work spans the UK and international comedy circuits. His credits include writing for and appearing on BBC One’s This Week and The One Show, as well as acting in Sky’s Summer Shorts. Originally from Greece, George moved to Britain at 18 to study Biochemistry before beginning his comedy career. Since starting stand-up in 2009, he has performed at Edinburgh Fringe five times, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and internationally across Europe, Asia and Australia.

Russian-Romanian comedian Denisa Alexe brings her international perspective to the stage. Her character “Ellena” became a TikTok sensation in 2020, generating millions of views. Drawing from her Eastern European background and 16 years living in the Middle East, Denisa combines cultural observations, storytelling and experiences that connect with audiences across the region.

Completing the line-up is John Hague, a Northern English comedian known for his sharp wit and observations on everyday life, bringing another distinctive voice to the evening.

Experience The Laughter Factory live for an evening of international stand-up comedy featuring comedians from the professional circuit and a line-up of distinctive voices.

Inspired by his upbringing and experiences of urban Britain, his comedy combines character-driven storytelling with sharp observations on modern life.

“Bursts onto the stage like a breath of fresh air, with impish grin, boyish enthusiasm and an effortlessly open, confident style.”

She gained international attention in 2020 through her viral TikTok character “Ellena”, which attracted millions of views. Drawing from her Eastern European background and 16 years living in the Middle East, Denisa creates comedy inspired by identity, culture and everyday experiences.

Her performances span comedy clubs, corporate events and festivals, connecting with audiences through storytelling and relatable humour.

Performing across the UK and UAE, John explores the absurdities of everyday life with a style that blends grounded experiences, unexpected twists and heartfelt comedy.

Founded in 1996, The Laughter Factory is the UAE’s longest-running and most awarded comedy club. Hosting three top-tier international comedians every month, the club has introduced thousands across the region to names including Russell Peters, Michael McIntyre, Dara Ó Briain, Mickey Flanagan, Jason Manford, Sarah Millican, Kevin Bridges, Frankie Boyle and more.

A multi-time winner of Time Out Dubai’s “Best Comedy Night”, The Laughter Factory remains the region’s most trusted name in stand-up.

The Laughter Factory's longevity is built on a straightforward formula: bring audiences comedians they wouldn't ordinarily get the chance to see in an intimiate venue.
