This February Mall of the Emirates has introduced a new barrier-free parking system, making it faster and more convenient for visitors to enter and exit. Along with the upgrade, a few important changes have been rolled out that drivers should keep in mind.

Now, instead of stopping at a gate to take a ticket, cameras will now scan your car’s license plate when you enter and exit the parking area. This technology calculates your parking duration automatically. If a fee applies, you’ll receive an SMS with a payment link, allowing you to pay online easily.

The parking fees at Mall of the Emirates remain the same. The only difference is the removal of physical barriers, making the process quicker.

Parking remains free on weekends and public holidays for all visitors. The same applies if leaving your car for up to 4 hours any day of the week.

However, if visiting the Mall of the Emirates from Monday to Friday for 4+ hours, the following fee will be charged:

  • 4 – 5 hours: AED 20
  • 5 – 6 hours: AED 40
  • 6 – 7 hours: AED 60
  • 7 – 8 hours: AED 100
  • 8+ hours: AED 150

Drivers should take note of a few updated rules. If the parking fee isn’t settled within three days of leaving the shopping centres, a fine of AED 150 will apply.

Also, there’s now a AED 3 fee for simply passing through the Mall of the Emirates parking area. This comes in response to drivers using the mall route to bypass traffic on Al Barsha’s inner roads and reach Sheikh Zayed Road faster.
